On 24 March 2021 at Senate Alcove, Parliament House Canberra, Dr. Brad Walsh, CEO of Minomic International Ltd, opened the innovations panel discussion. He covered topics around the innovation environment in Australia and how the Government can assist in facilitating a better environment through financial and regulatory support mechanisms as well as the streamlining of ethics approvals and IP agreements with universities.
Other speakers from the industry covered the importance of a strong pathology technology sector to Australia’s supply chain resilience with an audience drawn from Federal Government and other agencies such as TGA and MTPConnect.
They also discussed how some of these technologies greatly contributed to Australia’s world-leading response to the COVID-19 pandemic, how else this sector can ensure greater sovereign capability and supply chain resilience and how to retain the focus of multinational innovation companies in participating in the Australian healthcare market.
